What Are Dents In Leather?
Dents In A Bentley Door Arm Rest
Dents in leather happen when an object is placed on the leather and left for long periods of time. What happens is the leather stretches from the rear, the fibre structure gets stretched and causes dents to appear.
These dents can be removed with care, there are several methods that can be used to remove these indentations in leather, you can use a heat gun to gently warm the leather, this shrinks the stretched fibres on the back of the leather to pop out the dent. The other method is very hot terry towels placed on the leather, again this causes the fibres to shrink so the dent can come out.
These pictures show you how indentations can look in seats and door cards.

Dents Removed From Car Seat
Baby Seats are a common problem and cause for indentations in leather seats. They leave small dents where the base sits directly on the seat, you can get baby seat base covers, but be careful using these as plastic base covers can cause dye transfer to happen to the leather due to constant friction and movement as your driving your vehicle.
This video shows you how to remove indentations from a car seat using a heat gun to shrink the fibres on the rear of the leather seat.
